Parent and Teen Life Skills: How Money Works

For our October teen life skills program, please join Mike Ford for a fun financial program for young people ages 12 and up and their adults. This program introduces young people to money, savings, expenses, and debt and builds on what they already know. Questions welcome! Zentangle Pumpkins

Please join other teens to decorate this spooky looking Zentangle pumpkin for your front porch!  We will be using real pumpkins and sharpies to create this craft. Ages 10-18.

Graphic Novel Book Club

Thursday, October 24th at 4 pm

This month’s selection is Ghost Book by Remy Lai. July Chen sees ghosts, but  she pretends they don't exist. Which is incredibly difficult now as it's Hungry Ghost month, when the Gates of the Underworld are open. When July befriends one of the ghosts, she learns that he's a wandering soul wavering between life and death. Can she figure out how to save him, without sacrificing herself? Young people in grades 5-8 are invited to the library to discuss the book and participate in related activities. Attendees should have read the book before the meeting and bring the book with them; copies will be available at the library.

Teen Volunteer Night

Teens seeking service opportunities are invited to the Conant Public Library on Wednesday, November 6th from 6 pm to 8 pm to help with program preparation and keeping library materials in order. Come help out and get to know the library! Open to young people in grades 6-12.

Healthy Food and Cooking for Teens

Tween & Teen Craft: Succulent Planting & Pot Painting

Monday, November 25th at 6 pm

Tweens and teens ages 10-18 are invited to paint a succulent pot and then plant their very own succulent! All supplies are provided.

Family Paint Time and Teen/Adult Paint Time

Tuesday, November 26th at 4:30 pm or 6:30 pm

Beginners can learn how to paint an absolutely adorable vintage truck with a pumpkin in the back at the Conant Public Library - just perfect for November!  Paint along and follow a step-by-step plan to bring your canvas to life. Ages 5 and up; under 10 must have a supervising caregiver, who is encouraged to paint along! Family Paint Time will be at 4:30 pm. Teen (age 13 and up) and Adult Paint Time will be at 6:30 pm.

Resume Writing Workshop

Tuesday, December 3rd at 6:30 pm

Teens and young adults ages 15 and up are invited to the Conant Public Library to join Gabriel Heilig, founder of Action Resumes, to work on writing a successful resume. Participants are requested to bring a resume or self-portrait that they would currently send to an employer.

Families are invited to relax with hot chocolate and board games before the busyness of the holiday week takes over. We will have fun toppings to jazz up your hot cocoa and plenty of games suitable for all ages to play.

Beginning Crochet a Hat

Monday, December 30th at 1 pm

Patrons ages 10 through Adult are welcome to try their hands at crocheting a hat. You will learn a simple method and work in the round to create a toasty hat for winter. All materials are provided.
