For the health and safety of our patrons, the library will be closed until further notice. All programs have been suspended. We will continue to post updates on Facebook and the website. Thank you for your understanding!

The library's book drop is open for returns. All returned library materials will be quarantined for 24 hours before being checked in. Please note, the book drop is for library materials only and we ask that donations not be put in the book drop. If the book drop is full, please come back at another time and do not leave library materials outside of the book drop.

Curbside pickup is available! Place holds for Sterling items online or by calling 978-422-6409. We cannot obtain materials from other libraries at this time. Staff members will pull your requested items and contact you via phone when your pick-up is ready. Curbside pick-up is available Monday - Thursday from 10 AM to 6 PM. Materials will be placed on tables in front of the library in paper bags (in alphabetical order by last name) and the sidewalk will be taped off to allow for 6ft distance between patrons picking up materials. Materials can also be delivered to patrons who live in Sterling.

Not sure what to request? We can put together a book bundle for you. For adults, let us know how many books you would like and the genre. For kids, let us know how many books they would like, their age, interests, and what the last book they read and enjoyed was.

Summer Reading is still on for readers aged Birth-Grade 12! Register and log hours for chances to win awesome weekly prizes. Any kind of reading counts, including caregivers reading aloud. The more you read, the better your chances will be of winning a prize! All prizes are made possible by a generous donation from the Friends of the Conant Public Library, and all readers who log hours will receive a gift book also made possible by the Friends of the Conant Public Library.

Readers can log hours now through Thursday, August 13th. The last day to register is Saturday, July 25th. This program is made possible by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners with funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and with the assistance of the Massachusetts Library System.

If you were registered for summer reading last year, please reuse your Beanstack account with your same username and password. If you need help remembering your username or resetting your password, please call (978) 422-6409. When logging into your child's Beanstack account, please check your child's age/grade information to make sure it's correct. Grade listed should be the grade they are entering in the fall.

The 100 Books of Summer Reading Challenge, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Worcester, runs now through August 13th! This year, we’re flipping the challenge - we want YOU to pick your own 100 books to read and then share your favorites with us on Facebook. Weekly videos will be posted on Facebook of Ms. Angela reading her favorite books. Join the Conant Public Library Stay-At-Home Storytime Facebook group to view. Keep track of the books that you read in your 100 Books of Summer reading journal & let us know your favorites by commenting on the videos in our Facebook group or by emailing hflynn@cwmars.org. We will post a big list of community favorites on Facebook & our website! The Kiwanis Club of Worcester has donated special journals and pens so that children can track their books. One journal per child will be included with curbside pickup or delivery orders (delivery only available to Sterling residents). To get books, please place holds through CWMARS for curbside pickup, or give us a call and we will be happy to select a bundle of books for you to pick up curbside, Monday-Thursday from 10 am - 6 pm.

Sterling Trail Information
If you're looking for an activity to get out and get some fresh air, the Sterling trails are open during this time. Town officials ask that you please practice social distancing and if a trail is too crowded that you do not use the trail until it clears sufficiently. The Animal Control Officer also reminds us that social distancing applies to trails that allow dog walking, so no matter how cute, please don't stop to pet dogs.
